Every competitors worse nightmare - hit in the trailer

Travelling up to Curborough on last Friday pm on the M25/M3 junction I had a RTC while stationary. A lady in a Honda CRV drove (at some speed) into the back of my trailer causing extensive damage to the Phoenix and wrecking the trailer.

The ladies insurance company has admitted liability and my assessor has decided the trailer and racecar are a total loss. As this is classed as goods in transit and not a vehicle I'm pursuing the insurers for the full value of replacements for the car and trailer totalling some £53K according to my assessor. My Range Rover tow hook is bent as well so will need replacing and the Phoenix has chassis damage as well as requiring a complete, custom body.

Sad times.

That's unlucky having an off into the barriers while competing is a risk we all live with when competing , but to get taken out like this is rubbish. how could she not see a big red car on a trailer! Good luck with the claim.

Btw where did you get the CP track sticker from?

The car has been scrapped (Cat B write off) and I have sold most of the parts now. The trailer was also written off and has been replaced by a Eco-Trailer Velocity RS.

My new car is a Zeus Challenger Evo2 with a MR1500T billet turbo engine in it. Proper racecar this time. So the RTA has put me a much better place with respect to car and trailer but it was very sad saying goodbye to an old friend, one which I'd had for over 10 years.

I was out in the new car at Snetterton and Cadwell over the weekend.










Some photos from the weekend. Won the class at Snetterton 100 (FTD by some margin as well) and won the class at a very dampy Cadwell on the last run of the day. Not without its issues but the car is better now than it was on Saturday morning and I didn't damage it.
