Sprint regs Road going over 2litre

Sprint regs Road going over 2litre

Hopefully I am just being a bit thick having not sprinted for a while. Just read the following the blue book

Regulations for Standard Cars
11.9.1. Description
11.9.1.1. Road-Going Series Production Cars – Saloons
and Sports Cars produced in quantities of not less than
5000 per annum of unitary construction, two wheel
drive and up to 2litre engine capacity. The cars must be
manufactured after 1st January 2000 and be type
approved. Any replacement components fitted must be
a Standard Part/Standard Pattern Part.

Does this mean the old A3 class for road going cars over 2 litre no longer exists

Also noticed there are a couple of Lotus Elises entered in road going standard for CP which I always thought was a no no as they were moved years ago as too dominant against std road cars ? I've entered my Elsie in class B14.

Elise's where commonly in with Specialist Production ie Kitcars. I have noticed that they seem to be appearing in Series Prod instead these days.

Elises in standard class is wrong, if they read the regs there is no way Lotus produce 5000 cars a year !
