Postby jeffw » Sat Oct 29, 2016 7:49 am

Won the class at Castle Combe last weekend at the MANBAT Pegasus Sprint. I did a 76.39sec run which is a class record, was third overall and beat the class of 8 cars.

Did some data logging and from the start line it was 9.69secs 0-120MPH

Well done Jeff.

7secs to 100mph is bloody quick.

9.96 sec to 120 seemed pretty quick, especially as it was from a crappy pitlane, round a bend and then up an incline. On a better, straight & flat, surface I think it would be in the 6s to 100 and 8sec to 120. The guy who beat me by 0.1 sec at Brighton Speed Trial has done a 9.8 sec 1/4 mile since so it should be a low 10sec car.

Jeff, how do you return to the paddock?
The last time I did a sprint at Coombe the finish was soon after the final chicane & then you filtered into the pit entry, so this looks more interesting as it allows the final corner to be taken & I guess you are timed to the circuits start/finish line.

Yes, return via the pitlane and the finish is the start/finish line. This is the only Combe Sprint of the year to use this layout, normally you use pit in or there is one that does 1.75 laps.
