Summer Autotest
Yet another brilliant, sunny evening for the third in the series and a very close contest all round.
Once again that man PETER BAYLIS took FTD, but only by .36 of a second from CHRIS JUDGE who nonetheless took Class A , just ahead of the WISE brothers, CHRIS taking the honours this time ahead of RICHARD.
All three competitors in Class B were covered by just 10 seconds, RALPH TRAVERS finally edging COLIN SHIPWAY aside despite doing identical times on one test.
In Class D, MICK ROSE triumphed over LEE BUSBRIDGE, but by just 1.29 seconds.
Class E was very neatly swept up by JOHN KEMP, despite a very impressive debut by ANTHONY BLYTH in a Subaru Imprezza, who at one point was regretting not being in the Peugeot, as the Subaru whilst undoubtedly quick is also fairly long and requires practice to produce the best results – his words not mine!
Good to see MATT ENDEAN competing for the first time in his Fiesta and also new member IAN PHILLIPS in his Firenza (getting a bit hot and making some strange noises – the car that is !)
Also good to see JOHN ROOT and ANDREW WATKINS out to play again in their repaired Seat.
Well done to you all, my grateful thanks to the marshals, and let’s do it all again in two weeks time? (Thursday June 26)
