PCT - Dean Street, East Farleigh
On 9th April, Maidstone & Mid Kent Motor Club were hosts to the Production Car Trial to which members from Sevenoaks Motor Club were invited, in East Farleigh, near Maidstone. This was a new venue, and the owner, I am given to believe, was a bit sceptical of letting loose mad car drivers keen to go up muddy hills just for the fun of it in his field. However, he was so impressed with the display of skill and cunning shown by the drivers, and bouncers, that he brought his family to watch as well. He is willing to make the venue available again and could provide a burger van, and ladies, there is a toilet. It was a great day and the venue –hills either side of a valley, with a bit of grassland and tricky woody areas. As the grass was fairly dry, the grassy tests did not pose too much of a problem to clear, but I can’t say the same for the woody hills. Snow was forecast that day but the weather remained dry, and the sun was out.
Unfortunately there were only 16 competitors, five from Sevenoaks, but this enabled everyone to have three rounds and still get home in time for tea.
Well done to Chris Kemp of Sevenoaks was first in class A, and well done to the marshals from Maidstone & Mid Kent Motor Club who gave us a good day.
Hope to meet there again soon.
