Peugeot 205 National 1400 Championship –

An attempt for the Batturd Cup?

On 25th April, Chris Wise completed the latest round of the National Peugeot 1400 Championship at The Oak Leaf Stages, Wilbarston.

Despite his first competitive roll, on stage 8, we managed to get him back into the rally and he finished 3rd overall and 2nd expert.

One of the marshals of the organising club emailed me to say that he was marshalling near the end of the stage and all they could hear from the upside down car was Chris's co-driver, Holly Bailey, shrieking "did we get a time, did we get a time?" – Good girl!

On the stage following the roll I told Chris to take it easy and get a finish - he set fastest stage time!!

We now need to sort something to collect the oil that seems to be dripping from everywhere including the cockpit! No rust problems for the foreseeable future then. (Hmmm the Batturd Cup could come in handy then!!!!The Ed)

We're doing this all on a shoestring, but learning and enjoying it. Chris recently got third in class at Longcross in what is now a pretty standard car against all the modified 1400's, so he is learning his lines and car control. Now comes the tricky stuff – three forest/gravel events.

We wish Chris the best of luck for those tricky events coming up….The Ed
