Borough 19 PCT Chapmans Hill, Meopham 6th February 2005
Pickings
were rather slim for the Sevenoaks entrants at the first PCT of 2005. Organised
by Borough 19 at the familiar Chapman’s Hill venue, the usual format of two
runs at each of nine hills produced plenty of entertainment, but only the one
‘place’ for a Sevenoaks member, that being Chris Judge, 1st in class
B in his Mini Cooper, albeit this time flying his B19 flag.
A Peugeot 106, running in class A, took the overall win and Citroen AXs took 2nd and 3rd in class B just ahead of David Balderson in his 205 with double-driver Martin Stevens finishing 7th; Mick Rose, in his Mini, having something of a "’mare" in the same class.
Elsewhere, Clive Cooke (MG Midget) and Hales Vaughan (Frog-eyed Sprite) finished behind a double-driven Austin 7 in Class D with Stephen Thompson and David Rose losing out to another MR2 in Class E. And the Ibiza, in the hands of yours truly, failed to impress in class A this time out too.
Thanks
to Colin Shipway, once again, who was on hand to photograph the evidence,
and to B19 for organising yet another fun day’s sport; 41 entrants, no
retirements and little if no damage either. With 3 more PCTs scheduled for March
(7oaks), April (B19) and May (Croydon) the resurgence of this branch of the
sport in the South East continues unabated before long we’ll be talking ‘championship’!
