Woe, Woe and Thrice Times Woe!
Sevenoaks have dominated the ASEMC Club championship for the last 10 years, winning by a huge margin, to the point where, three years ago, they devised a different means of scoring to try to unseat us. This failed and in 2002 we won by 1735 points to our nearest rival’s 1003. Of these points 703 were scored in the ASEMC Speed Championship. Well, in 2003, for which I have just completed the calculations, we weren’t even second – we came third with the measly score of 796 compared with Sutton & Cheam’s 854 and B19MC’s winning score of 1003. How did this happen? The let down was the speed championship with only three of you registering and scoring a truly magnificent 37 points.
Where were you all? It’s a small fee, you’re probably doing many of the rounds anyway and we need you to represent this club in the area or we’ll dwindle as have other clubs over the years. Our own Sevenoaks Speed League is great, as good a championship as you’ll find, but don’t let that stop you from registering with the local Association Championships. I’ve asked Dawn to include the ASEMC registration form as a loose insert in this Acorn and you’ll find the other association’s details on their websites.
Please! Let’s get back to our normal winning ways – it’s for the honour of this our Jubilee year.

PS: Just as a comparison, we scored 179 points in the road rally championship and 580 points in the two stage championships – so guess what my next comment may be!
