EQUALITY FOR THE LADIES!

Now this may be a shock Dawn, as you know what a quiet and uncontroversial person I am (!) but I am submitting below a little tongue-in-cheek bit in answer to the lady who complained about everything being in the blokes' name when it comes to addresses of things from the club!

How pleased I was to read in last month's Acorn about a new lady member's complaint about absolutely everything being addressed to her husband, For years I have felt exactly the same as her.  We must have been members for ages, and in that time I have been competitor, marshal, dog's body setting up Valance and Crystal Palace, secretary of the meeting and now clerk of the course.  And STILL everything comes addressed just to Neville!  It's enough to give a gal an inferiority complex! However I am sure it's only a database thing and nothing personal to the lady members, who I am sure are equally cherished by Sevenoaks and DMC.  Incidentally, Neville and I are members of several clubs, and the others either push the boat out and send us separately addressed mail, or run off a label for each of us and stick them together on the envelope, that is if they don't have a joint database entry they can draw from.
I'm not politically correct or any of that rubbish, Dawn, but this has always niggled me.  And I usually have the diary anyway!
