Summer Autotest Series 2006
Round 1 – May 11
Thursday May 11th saw the start of the Evening Autotest series, and what a glorious evening it was.
A turn out of 20 competitors and 7 marshals basked in the evening sunshine and tackled the tests with enthusiasm.
As Clive Cooke’s apprentice, it was nice to meet everyone and put names to faces.
Class A was a close run thing and JIM BOWIE of Chelmsford just beat club mate MATT ENDEAN into second place. Even closer was the fight for 3rd place with Maidstone’s RICHARD OLSEN beating MICK ROSE by 0.1 of a second!
FTD was taken by DAREN HALL in his Nova, not bad considering it wasn’t behaving!
Class B was won by CHRIS PENFOLD in his Golf with an impressive margin of 20 seconds.
Class D only contained two competitors and it was a close thing with only two seconds between Black Palfrey’s LEE BUSBRIDGE in first and B19’s PETER DUNN in second.
Another Chelmsford member TONY MICHAEL came first in Class E with a lead of five seconds over second placed CHRIS WISE who was doing some nice drifting in that lovely Subaru.
Battle continues May 25, June 8, June 22, July 6, July 20 and July 30 – still plenty of time to enter we will be very pleased to welcome you.
