Hi Dawn,

I have just come to renew my car insurance as at the moment the car is stored waiting to be sold. As you may also know, I am also building a new car.
I have just found out that with Adrian Flux Insurance that you can have a "Vehicle Laid Up policy" that will cover the vehicle for damage, fire and theft, but not road use.
This policy is a one off payment and is 1/5 of my premium. It is one price for any period up to a year. A noticeable saving when my policy is nearly £500!
In addition to this, this can be transferred onto the car that is being built where there is growing concern for the liability of having an ever-increasing pile of expensive bits in the garage!
I hope that some other members my find this of help.

Dawn,

It was good to see you at the AGM.

With regard to Quiz on July 16th, please emphasise that:

1. General knowledge plus motoring/motorsport.
2. Team game with teams being formed on the night from those who turn up.
3. No specialist knowledge required. Those who know who won the Rose and Crown trophy in 1970, who came third in the 1957 German Grand Prix and what is the capital of Mongolia are somewhat over qualified.
4. Exotic prizes, including the chance of winning a much sought after opportunity to marshal at North Weald.
5. Assemble in the changing rooms at 8.30pm with a prompt kick-off at 8.45pm.

Essex Charity Stages – Please Help

We as part of the Organisation of the Rally of Kent have been asked by Wickford Motor Club to help them with running a stage on the Essex Charity Stages on July 6th.
The information that I have is that the stage is a tarmac road (not public!) about 2.5 miles long running between several farms.
Ourselves along with Bexley and Maidstone have been asked to crew the stage which means we shall need a minimum of 20 to 25 people but the more the merrier.
Wickford have been good supporters of the Rally of Kent and the Kent Forestry Rallies over the years so we are clearly in their debt.  Please volunteer by giving me a call (my number and email address is in the Yearbook) and save us having to make begging phone calls, those of you that now have shiny new MSA rally marshals’ registration cards have the ideal opportunity of getting your first signature.

Best regards,
Colin Billings

Anyone Fancy a Trip to France?

Hi Dawn,

An opportunity has arisen for an entry to the Forêt Auvray Hillclimb on 25th and 26th July.  The event is south of Caen near a place called Falais.
I will be making the trip and was wondering if anyone else would either like an entry or would like to come along with me for the ride.
The hill itself is 1500 meters long with a 6% gradient.  It is used for national events but on the above dates, the event is for club level competitors.  I have all the information, so if anyone is interested in finding out more please ring me on 01787 211555.

Kind Regards,
Rob Hume
