Thank you to all who came and supported the club’s AGM meeting last
month. It was good to see a nice cross-section of the club membership in
attendance to make their views known. We also had three ex-Chairmen in
attendance keeping a fatherly eye on the current committee members. Whilst
on that subject it was nice to see that Bill Shewan is looking considerably
more mobile following an operation on his leg earlier this year. Ron
Cottrell was another who is looking much more sprightly these days
and offering his services at club events this year. Full details of the
report that I presented at the AGM can be found elsewhere in this edition
of Acorn.
At the time of writing entries for our sprint at North Weald on 22nd
June are looking rather thin. So if you haven’t already entered, then please
get in touch with Tina Moon immediately. For those of you not competing,
then please volunteer your services to Chin to help with marshalling on
the day.
Our Social Evening this month moves to Charing Gliding Club where a
number of our intrepid members will be venturing (weather permitting) into
the Kent skies in gliders. If you haven’t already expressed interest in
this wonderful opportunity to soar above the Kent countryside, then please
contact me straight away and I will endeavour to get a glider flight for
you (N.B. An experienced Pilot/Instructor is included with every flight).
