Detailed below are further details about the event and the timings.
1) Please arrive at the airfield by 6.00pm ready for signing-on and the pre-flight briefing.Obviously the gliding will be dependant on favourable weather and the club will let me know by 3.00pm on the day whether we will be able to fly or not. Please ensure that you let me have a contact number, preferably a mobile, that I can reach you on if flying is called off.
2) Gliding should commence at around 6.30pm
3) If any of you who are flying weigh more than 15 stone, then when asked what you weigh the answer to the question is 15 stone!
4) The flight will consist of an aerial tow to between 2,000 and 2,500 feet and be followed by a flight of around 15 to 20 minutes.
5) You will get the opportunity to take the controls and fly the glider during the flight if you wish, but you won't be able to do the landing on your first flight!
6) Should the cloud base be too low for aerial tow, then we should be able to use the winch to launch the gliders. Flights will be shorter, but you should get two or three goes.
7) Food and drink will be served in the clubhouse after the gliding has finished.
