GREENPOWER MARATHON

750 Motor Club are running a round of the Ford sponsored Greenpower electric car six hour marathons at Dunton, Basildon on Sunday 7th July 2002.
Have a look at www.greenpower.co.uk for details, but basically it is an effort to encourage engineering as a career in schools. Electric vehicles are to be built and raced by school pupils within specified guidelines.  There are various rounds throughout the country, with the final at Goodwood in October.
They are looking for marshals to help - 12 or more would be ideal and whilst there will not be quite the danger and speed of a sprint or motor race, it is intended to run the event properly, with flags, marshal posts etc.
If this sounds like a good idea and fun too, then marshalling experience is not vital, but you must be prepared to do your bit! Even fuel expenses will be paid.  Apparently Ford will be having a general open day on the Saturday as well and there should be Bluebird and other land speed vehicles to see.
