Club Lights - Technical Regulations Version 3.0
This Series is intended as a multi discipline series running at Club level with a hope to get a universal adoption of the rules. This set of regs is intended for a pilot of the championship.
The spirit of these regulations must be upheld by all entrants, the final decision lies with the competition secretary of the organising club. This series is only for genuine road going Saloon/Hatchback cars. This is a low cost series and any excessive spending is not within the spirit of these regulations.
Sports cars and high performance specials are not permitted.
All competitors and drivers must produce a valid competition licence (on National B events) club membership card and a Championship registration card. Competitors must also produce valid MOT certificates and relevant insurance documentation.
The events will consist of the following category:
Club Lights (low budget road going saloons)
Cars at least 3 Years old, within the acceptable list. Fully Taxed MOT’s and insured up to 2000 cc Non Turbo (Diesel engines are exempt from the non Turbo rule)
ALL VEHICLES MUST COMPLY WITH MSA SAFETY REGULATIONS.
Club Lights
NO MODIFICATIONS ALLOWED UNLESS SPECIFIED BELOW:
Wheels up to maximum size fitted to that model by manufacturer are
permitted, Replacement damper units must be of the same type fitted originally.
Coil and leaf springs must remain as standard. The front seats only
and the steering wheel may be changed. Brake linings are free but callipers
must be standard. Rollcages permitted but not encouraged (cost).
Apart from these items no part of the car may be modified in any way, no
additional parts may be fitted and no parts added
Restrictions applicable to all Classes
The car must have been mass-produced
NOTE. Navigators must be registered for the championship also
NOTE. Four wheel drive cars excluded
NOTE. Left-hand drive is permitted as are all EU registered cars
foreign equivalent of MOT acceptable
Restrictions Applicable
Cars must be taxed, insured and MOT tested and road legal IN ALL
RESPECTS. Documentation must be produced at signing on to verify
this. The only tyres that are permitted are those listed in "List
1a", regulation R.3.1.1 of the MSA tyre regulations for this year and 2000.
THESE CLASSES ARE INTENDED FOR GENUINE ROAD GOING VEHICLES.

What is Required to run in club lights?
A car that is within the regulations
A non race national B competition licence
Proban overalls (for sprints)
A Helmet to BS type A (see blue book)
A DVLA road licence*
Club membership
Championship registration
OS maps of the championship area
*People too young for a RTL could contest the championship as they could
navigate on rallies and drive in Autotests, sprints and PCTs.
