Number four in the series and the attendance down a little at 16 – possibly due to the attraction of holidays and/or Switzerland playing in the Eurofootie.

What was missing in quantity was however more than made up for by quality, goodness me that was a tight one!

Class A produced the FTD, but ONLY by some 3 seconds from Class B winner Ralph Travers. Chris Judge made a few errors (his words, not mine) leaving Jim Bowie and Mick Rose to battle it out, and they certainly did!

They finished with exactly the same time, the award being decided in Mick’s favour, by 23cc of engine capacity, or more accurately by the lack of it !!

Class B was also pretty tight with Russell Ecclestone being relegated to second spot again by 23 but in this case .23 of a second! Just to emphasise the closeness, positions 3^rd to 7^th inc. were covered by less than 4 seconds! (note to CC, make the tests longer?)

Classes D and E had to be amalgamated but all still battled nobly, producing clouds of dust and a couple of WR’s unfortunately for Daniel Whittington in his MR2, leaving Charles Armstrong-Wilson to collect the honours again.

Thanks, as always to the marshals, including those stalwart competitors, Colin Shipway, Ralph and John Kemp who took over the clocks where there was a vacancy.
