Rally Rattlings

Firstly my apologies to Sam Collins for missing him out of the results of the Swan Rally – he and Oliver North came a creditable 4th out of the ten Novices – well done.
In preparation for the Spotted Dick & Custard Rally, Ralph Travers and I helped our friends Bexley LCC with the results on their Anniversary Stages at Longcross on the 30th June. We had a few crews out in the form of Ian Turner co-driving for Duncan Waite, Mark Best and Roy Rayner in a Peugeot 106 S16, Colin Billings co-driving for Tim Seipel in a MGZR, Ian Gibson and Andy Gibson in the trusty Suzuki. Ian Turner finished tenth overall followed by the Gibsons in 21st (3rd in Class) and Mark and Roy in 28th. Colin Billings managed yet again to destroy a driveshaft – it wasn’t his and he wasn’t driving – that’s what I call talent. Nice to see you all out enjoying yourselves.

Talking of Longcross PLEEEEZZZZZZ don’t forget the 1st September – it’s our go there and Chris Scudder will need as many of you as he can get – it’ll be a good day out and it can’t rain – the sky must be empty by now!

If you think I’ve got it wrong (I’ve only taken it from internet results and may have missed people) please don’t be shy – let me know.

On the personal note the Manta (the one remaining one – ex-Phili Holliday) is (as I write) being changed from blue to bright yellow – who can remember LOY15??
Next month I’ll report on at least the Drystone (I think Graham Child and Kevin Ablitt are joining us too)
