The May 30th Autotest took place in less than perfect conditions – the marshals definitely earned their brownie points. The competition was as close as ever with FTD to Mark Dawson and “new” faces in first and second in class A/B – separated by .29 of a second. Well done Chris Wise and Colin Shipway. Class E saw Hales Vaughn beat his regular adversary John Kemp by .42 of a second. Well done again!
Another fine evening greeted the revellers on 13th June (where were
you?) with the threat of rain encouraging rapid action.
Again the most rapid was Mark Dawson, some 8 seconds clear of the ‘Astra’
Class winner – Mick Rose in a Mini. Class E saw Richard Wise frightening
the Sprite Duo, by finishing between them. Watch This Space ……
Evening Autotest No 4 on 27th June saw a select band of enthusiasts
enjoy a fine evening of fun motoring, courtesy of our stalwart marshals.
Chris Judge came out to play and promptly robbed Mark Dawson
of FTD, to the delight of Chris and the charging of Ralph Travers
who would otherwise have won Class B.
Class A went to Mick Rose in the other mini (just 0.01 slower than
Mark’s Puma incidentally!) and Class C to John Kemp who fought off the
attentions of two Marina 1.8’s – interesting battle that one !
Next time the tests will be harder, and longer ……
Why not come and join the fun because that’s what it’s all about!
See you at the next one?
