Chairman’s Chatter

Well hopefully the pressure is off the turkey population for another twelve months, as we have all probably had our fill of festive fair.

Although come to think of it we do have the annual awards dinner coming up. Unfortunately I shall not be able to attend this year as the Tour of Epynt has changed date for 2006 and has resulted in a clash with the dinner. However I wish all of you who do attend a very enjoyable evening and congratulations to all the winners.

Well it’s generally been fairly quiet over the last month. Unfortunately we have had the bad news that Motor Sport Vision have cancelled our Snetterton sprint weekend dates which they gave us last year. It’s far too long a story to print here but suffice it to say MSV are not quite the champions of club motor sport that they purport to be.

I have been very busy over the festive period rebuilding the Golf’s engine. Earlier in December I had the pleasure of joining Ian Wright at a sporting trial near Ross on Wye and what an education it was. I was under no illusion that I was there solely as ballast and was only advised that it was the championship decider on the way to the event (I might not have been quite so keen had I known before). Whilst I was a bit nervous to start with and after all I was just moving my weight around (yeah, yeah I know there is enough of it to go around) but on the whole it all came together with Ian only having to prompt me on the odd occasion. For those of you currently doing the PCTs have a look at sporting trials, I know where I’m going to play when I finish rallying.

Well that’s it from me for this month it just remains for me to wish you all a very happy and prosperous 2006.
