A Ramblin’ we will go….

With their New Year hangovers firmly behind them, an intrepid group of S&DMC members met together in Kemsing on Jan 2nd to blow away Colin Billings takes the leadcobwebs and get the blood circulating, whilst enjoying the local countryside and each other’s company.7oaks & DMC, The Next Generation…...Geo-cache wiped out!

Chin had worked out a route, although the local knowledge of the some members of Team Kemsing, meant that this was not always stuck to.

Ian Crocker had on a previous walk talked about an internet based activity called Geocaching, or simply put Treasure Hunting, involving the finding of little caches which have been well hidden off the beaten track. The co-ordinates for the caches are downloaded off the website and can then be found using a hand held GPS system. The caches normally contain small items such as toys, souvenirs, small coins, keyrings etc. The idea is to find the cache, remove an item if desired and then replace this with an item of your own, to keep the cache going. Ian found one near to where we would all be walking and as we had a number of junior 7oaks members with us, this was an ideal distraction from the normal “Are we nearly there yet?” type questions!

We arrived back at Kemsing just in time for a very nice Sunday lunch in The Bell.
