Rally Championship 2004
There are some changes for the championship for this year, the main one being the splitting of the championship into two halves, one for stage rally drivers and co-drivers and the other for road rally drivers and navigators.
There will no longer be any nominated events, instead any event to which Sevenoaks members are invited will be eligible, with crews best six to count.
Points will be awarded on competitors’ class position as follows:
| 1st in class | 30 points |
| 2nd | 27 points |
| 3rd | 25 points |
| 4th | 24 points |
| 5th | 23 points |
and so on down to a minimum of 10 points for any finisher. In addition, 1 point will be added to the score for every competitor in the class beaten. Starters who do not finish the event will score 5 points.
e.g. Number in class = 14, place in class = 5th – points scored = 23 + 9 = 32
To qualify for an award competitors must marshal or officiate on any Sevenoaks & DMC organised event, Sprint, Rally, Autotest, 12car etc. and will receive 10 bonus points for this.
To claim points simply send a copy of the results to me (Rally sec.), with your result highlighted.
Good luck on the stages and in the lanes, look out for updates in the Acorn through the season.
