It was good whilst it lasted but a very bright star has just gone out. Only a month after confirming that we were on again for another year at the palace I received a letter today (Jan 29) to say that all events in the park during the first half of 2001 were to be cancelled.
Whilst this in itself is upsetting, following a phone call to the park, I was told that the redevelopment works involved the realignment of all the paths and roadways within the park to recreate the Victorian Age, so that the vestiges of track left will be ripped up and replaced by a resin compound totally unsuited to cars.
The sad thing about this is whilst we were always aware of developments not only have Bromley gone back on their earlier agreement with us, but once again like Valence we have not been able to close a venue down with a last swansong.
Can we find another?
