It was disappointing that there were not more competitors there on November
20th but thank you to those that came as competitors or just club members,
it was good to have your input for next year.
We covered several points over the evening Scoring, Venues, Prizes,
Regs and Acorn.
I have tried to summarise the things that will be changing slightly
for next year’s championship.
Scoring
This will continue as now except the 1 extra point you are able to
gain from beating each competitor will be capped at a max of 5pts .
E.g. class of 10 places 1st – 5th will get 5 points, 6th – 4pts, 7th
– 3pts, 8th – 2pts, 9th – 1pt, 10th – 0 pts.
Class of 14 places 1st – 9th will get 5pts, 10th – 4pts, 11th – 3pts,
12th – 2pts, 13th – 1pt, 14th – 0pts.
Class of 4 1st – 3pts, 2nd – 2pts, 3rd – 1pts, 4th – 0pts,
Rounds
The Championship will now be 10 out of 18 rounds to count.
This was decided and voted on from 3 choices 8 out of 16, 10 out of
18 or as it is now.
Marshalling
We agreed to clarify in a little more detail what constitutes Marshalling
as it was felt it was not clear in this year’s regs so we have added Rally
setups, Rally PR, sprint setups and any other club activity deemed to be
equal to that of marshalling in addition to what’s already in the regs.
The Bonus (7) points will still be available for those wishing to marshal
a sprint and not compete.
However you will need to complete the Marshalling form at the bottom
of the Registration form and get a 7Oaks official to sign it and return
it to myself to qualify and the same will apply to the bonus points.
Venues
A list of possible events was circulated and competitors were given
the opportunity to indicate which rounds they were interested in and I
will be compiling the list of events from this.
It was also agreed to introduce a new Trophy for those who like to
concentrate on the local rounds. It will work in the same way as the Tourist
Trophy with the rounds to count being indicated like the TT rounds, you
will see “LT” alongside the event.
Prize Money
I have looked at the way in which we allocate the prize money and it
was agreed at the meeting to change it to the following.
1st Prize £140, 2nd Prize £75, 3rd prize £60,
4th Prize £50, 5th Prize £40.
Tourist £25, Local £25, Neil Davison £25, Kentish
Times £20, Muller Cup £20, Single Seater £20.
Regs
It will remain the Competitor’s responsibility to obtain these.
However I will send a mailing list of all competitors to all the event
secretaries and ask for some copies to be sent to me providing they are
available.
I will try and establish when the regs are due to be sent out and I
will put the date on the website.
Acorn
I would very much like to see more articles written by different competitors
so be warned I could be asking you.
I am hoping to get the regs out with the January Acorn and will also
post them on the website.
