In the Hot Seat

Well November seems to have been taken up almost exclusively by rallying, both at a club and an international level. On the club scene we ran the first of our autumnal 12-cars and this was followed swiftly by a scatter rally organised by yours truly (see reports elsewhere in Acorn for details). I do enjoy organising scatter rallies, but it would be so much more rewarding if a few more of you came out to support them. They’re great fun to do and you only have to sacrifice a few hours away from the TV and what’s more, there’s hardly ever anything decent on these days!
Karen Webber’s Marketing Machine Speed Championship Discussion Evening was a great success. Karen did a great job of presenting her ideas to those present, despite occasional heckling from the floor. Has anyone ever stood up at a club night and given a presentation to the membership with the aid of a flipchart and lots of coloured pens before, surely this must be a first for Karen? Championship regulations and a list of venues should be available soon.
Bookings for the Dinner Dance on Saturday 1st February 2003 are beginning to arrive, but I would still like to see many more coming in. Another copy of the application form should be enclosed with this copy of Acorn and there is also a copy in the ‘Regs’ section on the club website (NB. Cheques will not be cashed until after the event, so please book NOW).
Lastly, you should all have now received individual letters inviting you to renew your membership of the club. As you will see the annual fee has been held yet again at the very reasonable price of £20 for the year. So please help out Trevor and Denise by getting the forms back to them promptly with your cheque. We look forward to seeing you all renewing your membership for 2003.

P.S. Loved the letter from Norfik last month, can we have another please?
