Our Summer Evening Autotest series is now drawing to a close, but is proving ever more popular with a massive 31-car entry at the last round. By the time that you read this the final round will have taken place and our overall champion for 2004 decided. This year’s final all day event should prove challenging to organiser Clive Cooke as goodness knows how many of you will turn up for a day thrashing around the cones!

By the time that you read this our final sprint of the season at North Weald will also have come and gone, but please don’t forget that your help will, as always be needed at the Spotted Dick and Custard stages at Longcross both for set-up on the Saturday and for running the event on Sunday 5^th September.

Darren Hall has offered to auction the navigator’s seat next to him on the Spotted Dick in aid of the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity in memory of Mark Dawson. Now although a very worthy cause that it is, I can’t think of anything that I’d like to do less, have you seen the crazy speeds that he drives at on the loose in that car? Despite the preceding comments, my bid is on its way to Darren; I just hope and pray that someone else bids a lot more for this very worthy cause!
