Monthly Mug - June

As some of you will be aware the monthly mug is presented for a meritorious performance decided upon by the committee. The criteria for the award is generally that it is a performance above and beyond what would normally be expected, that is an Autotest win by a certain Mr Hall would not qualify whereas a first in class by someone who had never achieved this before may well do.
The winner for June was nominated for winning an event that actually had little to do with competition, The Bromley Pageant of Motoring, the biggest one day car show in the world. As you will see from the report elsewhere, Stuart Giles, with his home built V8 single seater won the Best Competition Car class. This was no little achievement as the judging at Bromley is known to favour classic competition cars rather than pure racing cars and the competition included Dave Jacobs 6R4, a Ferrari and numerous other highly polished classic competition cars.
Stuart will (eventually!) have a monthly mug to go with the trophy

Colin Shipway

PS July Mug: Mark Dawson had an excellent 9th overall at the recent Longcross Sprint. As he is also getting some FTDs at the autotests, the Committee awarded Mark July’s mug.
