Comp Talk

Well our first speed event of the year was well attended and it seemed that you all had a good day; the weather was even kind to us. Who says it always rains at North Weald. Dawn Travers and Karen Webber certainly deserve our thanks for keeping the score board up to date with times, after a panic at the start when we found out there were no time cards, as do Caroline and Clive Cannon assisted by Emily at their first event as Chief Marshals and thanks go to all you who helped out with marshalling. Although a few more would have made their task easier.

The next event I have details for is another North Weald on 1st May, this time organised by Green Belt Motor Club. This is not a Speed League round, but is part of several of the regional championships, more details from Chris Deal 0208 803 0675.

The following weekend 8th May we have the Debden Sprint which this is a round of the Speed League. If you have not received regs for this, then contact Gerry Cannon 0208 360 3957.

I also have regs for Llys-y-Fran on the 15th May and Loton Park 1st /2nd May. None of these events are round of local championships, but if you are interested then please give me a call and I will give you contact details for regs.

Moving on to June there is another round of the All Circuit Sprint Championship on the 4th at Lydden.

More importantly than any of those events is the Snetterton Sprint on 7th May. This is a round of our Speed League and entries are filling up quickly so get your entry in NOW. Karen Webber is the person to ring for regs or to confirm an entry.

The our Autotest season gets underway on the 12th May at Farningham, a fun evening’s motor sport, and we once again have a production car class for over 14s, so why not get your children started in motor sport, it’s certainly cheaper than Karting! Clive Cooke is your man for this year’s series and regs and an entry form can be found elsewhere in this month’s Acorn.

Happy Competing!
