In the Hot Seat

The Rally of Kent, as you will no doubt read elsewhere, was a great success once again. Thanks to all of you who turned out not only on the day to help run the event so successfully, but also to those of you who gave up time to help with the set-up the day before. However the biggest thank you of all should go to Colin Billings who put in a huge amount of effort in preparation and organisation to help make this co-promoted event such a success. Long may it continue!

Easter Saturday sees the running of our co-promoted National A Sprint at Lydden Circuit. Entries have filled up well, including 30 cars from the John Cooper Challenge for which this is the first round of their championship, so hopefully we will get a nice rain and trouble free day. More on this next month.

The date for our Golden Jubilee Ball at Leeds Castle on Saturday 22nd May is fast approaching, so to avoid disappointment please get your ticket applications in to Karen Webber as soon as possible. We have a superb night arranged for you with a drinks reception starting at 7.00pm, a static display of cars, an excellent meal, our guest speaker club Vice-president Vic Elford and dancing to a live band until 1.00am.

Lastly, don’t forget the club Annual General Meeting at the Bell in Kemsing on Wednesday 21st April. Please come along and air your views, good or bad. It’s your motor club and if you’d like to see things done differently, then you need to come along and tell us. We, your committee, would like to see as many of you as possible attend on the night.
