2001 AUTOTEST CHAMPIONSHIP

Yes folks, its that time of year again.  Hayfever, paying for your hols in the sun and Grass Autotesting.  This is the time when you spy all those bits Hales brings along to the Bell in February, attached to his Sprite in May.  Hopefully, Dawn will have found room for the entry form in this issue (See below, I can be obliging - Ed).
This year will not be any different than last season's quite successful event.  We will again be running a Production Car section alongside the series proper, to give a chance to the younger members to try entry-level motorsport.  Chris Judge has agreed to draw up the tests for the series, and the fields are booked.  Please note however that the first test has been moved to August.  In previous years, we have had to use one field for the first event as a dog show has prevented use of both.  If we have a big entry, then one field is considered really "iffy".  This year the dog show is the Saturday following our first test, so the safe option is to change.  Should mean that the grass is shorter!
The Club Committee has decided that all Sevenoaks members under 21, will have free entry to the series. Hopefully this will encourage more of you to come out and play, but make sure that you have your club cards with you (and possibly birth certificates).
As ever the cry is for marshals.  Without them the event cannot run within the time limited by the available light.  Usually, the committed members, i.e. committee give up their fun and marshal.  I am not keen on this, as they work hard on our behalf and are entitled to a little relief. All volunteers will be gratefully received.
(See Thought of the Month--Ed) And the drive up to the field has been surfaced!!!
I look forward to seeing drivers from last year, and new faces this year.  Whatever you do though, bring your club card, your entry form, cash and a foot pump!  See you there.
