Mazda on Track Trackday
At Brands Hatch (bookable via the Mazda on Track website).
The price is good at £145 for a full day, even if it will no doubt be cold, it’ll probably be damp & it’ll be dark around 4 pm. Overall the driving standard is normally pretty respectful of one another, certainly better than a public trackday. You do NOT have to drive a Mazda I’ve always used my Toyota Celica & it’s never been an issue. It’s normally 50% MX5’s, 25% RX7orRX8 & 25% other cars.
I know this event was very nearly full so it may have sold out by the time the Acorn goes to print, but as it’s a social event, why not come along for a visit & maybe even have a passenger ride around Brands Hatch.
Speed Forum - The Bell Kemsing 8pm
The same format as previously; a platform for discussion about the 2017 championship & an opportunity to look forward to the 2018 season.
Noggin & Natter
Held in the back room of The Bell at Kemsing at 8.00pm. A return to an old format of having a social evening purely to be social. Not at all to do with the Social Sec running a bit thin on ideas for social nights.......honest! Please do come along for a natter with fellow club members.
Annual General Meeting
Held in the back room of The Bell at Kemsing at 8.00pm, this is your chance to voice opinions on the general running of the club and to offer your services for a committee position.
This is an opportunity to find out more about the varied sport of rallying from low key Scatter and 12 Car navigational events to international tarmac and loose surface rallies. We are hoping to have representatives from the club who complete in a wide range of events providing information and advice to new club member interested in this popular and exciting motorsport format.
A chance to pre-register for our ever popular Autotest championship. We anticipate it will again be held at Brands Hatch in 2017, however their 8pm curfew imposed by the council, means we are limited to running a maximum of 40 cars. So please come along to register so you can secure a spot for the season.
A Find Out More Evening
A chance to discover more about the disciplines you can participate in with SDMC in this country under the MSA and even a few events in Europe. You might want to find out about what type of events suit you for getting started off in your day-to-day road car or maybe you’re looking to progress into a new discipline.
There will be a short briefing about the disciplines and what seemed to work well at our first night like this, was giving people the chance to interact one-on-one with club members to ask questions.
